The Blessings of Help

Saturday morning, the young people from North Carolina flew home and a group from South Carolina arrived that night. We have been blessed with much help on this project and thank God for the wonderful blessing it has been.

Siding Removal!

No More Chimney

Inside the new building are three old chimneys. 1 2/3 chimneys have been removed with 1 1/3 to go (which should be done on Monday.) The siding on the east side of the building has been completely removed and the west side is almost done.

Up and Down

Today the work went in two different directions: up and down. We took three loads of metal out of basement and hauled it off to the dumb. Also the big genie lift came and we started ripping off the siding on the high parts of the building.

Going up

The scaffolding stayed up and the removal of the siding continued. The north side of the building has been completely stripped of siding. Please pray that the funding would come in for new siding to be purchased.

Help From Victory

Pastor Fuller and 12 young people from Victory Baptist came to help at the work site today. The young men and women, along with Pastor Fuller, were a huge blessing to the workers there today! Most of the old siding was removed from the south side of the building by the young men. All of the windows, frames, scrap medal and wood (which were taken out on Friday) were cleaned out by the young ladies. The south side of the building was also cleaned free of debris and siding.

Progress Made

Over the past few weeks, much progress has been made:

The building has been completely gutted.
All of the old sheet rock and insulation has been removed.
The second-story deck has all new safety railings.
Parts of the outside of the building are ready for siding.
Some new windows and doors have been put in.
The third floor deck has been cleaned off and is almost ready for siding.
All of the old windows have been taken out of the entire building.

Help for the Week

On Monday and Tuesday, the work continued with some help from a work crew out of North Carolina. New railings have been added to the decks off of the second floor and the cleaning has continued on the third floor.

Crown College Quartet

The Crown College Northeast Quartet came from Powell, Tenn. to visit our church. They also came and worked at the building project. We worked all morning and completely gutted the third floor! We're making great progress! The day ended with lunch at the church and a special song from the quartet.

Cleaned Out

The second floor has been completely cleaned out! We had a short day today and finished cleaning out the second floor in a few hours. Tomorrow we head for the third floor!

Clean-up

Even with the rain, the work continues. The team of workers headed up to the second floor of the building to clean-up. Trash cans full of sheet rock and insulation were moved out of the building all morning and the second floor was almost completely cleaned out.

The Young People

Praise the Lord for the young people! Pastor Dave headed up a group of 12 young people. They were helping out with the clean-up and continuation of demo. We had about 17 or so helping all day with the project and things are looking good!

Help From All Around

Demolition work continued this morning with the help of some friends in the ministry. Pastor Fuller, Pastor Falk, and some young men from Victory Baptist Church came and started out working first thing inside the building and out. A little while later, Pastor Wiley and some men from his church flew in with Pastor Bell and worked all day on the electrical. Of course, our faithful church members rallied together to finish up the demolition of the last few rooms in the building. With about 30 or more works there, much progress was made!
